Gulf states with strong ties to President Donald Trump are emerging from the war between Israel and Iran with greater regional influence and with some of their longstanding security concerns over Iranian power assuaged.

A fragile ceasefire between Iran and Israel appeared to hold Tuesday after initially faltering, and U.S. President Donald Trump expressed frustration with both sides, saying they had fought “for so long and so hard” that they do not know what they are doing.

The Israel-Iran conflict, together with the military intervention of the United States and Tehran’s retaliation, has continued to heavily disrupt global travel despite some Middle East nations saying their airspaces were now open again.
