Newly-crowned middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev, returned home to United Arab Emirates (UAE) following his Dricus du Plessis victory atop the UFC 319 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in Chicago.
Chimaev (15-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) dominated Dricus Du Plessis (23-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) on the ground en route to a unanimous decision win in Saturday's main event at United Center in Chicago. Chimaev had over 21 minutes of control time on Du Plessis, and was showered with boos from the fans several times throughout the fight.
The Dutchman has won three fights in a row since signing with the UFC. His most recent triumph came in the main event of a UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi this past June, where De Ridder defeated Robert Whittaker to add a former champion to his résumé.
