Wisconsin defensive back Xavier Lucas is at the center of a major impending legal battle after his lawyer, Darren Heitner, announced that he would transfer to Miami. At issue is whether revenue-sharing agreements with schools are binding in the wake of the upcoming House v.

The NCAA requires schools to adhere to a player’s transfer request, but Lucas' name never appeared in the portal.

Wisconsin says it has “credible information” that Miami and Xavier Lucas made impermissible contact with each other before the former Badgers cornerback decided to transfer to his home-state school.
