New York City will become the first U.S. city to receive its favorite snacks from fully-electric delivery trucks, with five new trucks beginning routes this month. In total, Frito-Lay will be deploying 21 electric trucks this year.

In just the last few years, new technologies have rapidly replaced and/or improved trucks of the past. At Frito-Lay, we’ve introduced electric delivery trucks, compressed natural gas tractors and advanced diesel technology from some of the leading manufacturers around the world.

When all 105 trucks are deployed by the end of this year, Frito-Lay expects to eliminate 200,000 gallons of fuel and nearly 4.5 million pounds of greenhouse gases annually in the state of California.
