This is preliminary work to get the bridge ready for a larger seismic retrofitting project slated for early 2025. The bridge won't be closed and the construction should wrap up Friday evening.

Crews were alerted to the fire at 4:43 p.m. with callers reporting a fully involved house fire. Firefighters arrived to find a fully involved garage fire that had extended to the home.
