Big wins for Detroit transit! Major federal and state funding announcements over the last few weeks have made the complete rebuild of DDOT possible. 53 new buses are now on the way, thanks to a newly announced $50M federal grant. Federal grants to purchase 76 new buses had already been awarded to Detroit over the last two years, bringing the total number of new buses to 129 which means 44% of the entire DDOT fleet will be replaced from 2025 to 2027.
