On December 18, 2017, an Amtrak train making its inaugural run of a new, faster service route between Seattle and Portland derailed near DuPont, Washington. The train was going too fast around a curve, sending train cars flying off the tracks and crashing onto Interstate 5 below. Three people were killed in the derailment. Tim Brodigan was nearly one of them. He was the youngest and most severely injured passenger aboard the train, suffering a spinal cord injury. Now, his recovery is incredible.
