This is Alexander the Tardigrade, one of my all-time favorite tardigrades. I found Alex in 2018 and kept him on a prepared slide in a humidity chamber, following his life for a few weeks. Back then, I didn’t know how to differentiate sexes in tardigrades, and a couple of days after I shared Alexander with the world, he developed eggs and surprised me. So we changed his name to Alexandra the Tardigrade, after a brilliant woman I had a crush on in 2016, from my other crush from 323 BCE. 😂 . I kee
