Fire lighting turned out to be a fantastic example of learning through failure for one of our home educated kids this week. He started by building a top down fire but realised that he didn’t have the correct fire lighters for this to be successful (as it had done when he’d previously built a fire this way). When the flames petered out, undeterred he rebuilt the fire in the traditional Forest School way and voila…success was his! A great display of perseverance, patience and persistence! #ForestS
