50 feet of Fun-dy ! Twice each day the Bay of Fundy rises and falls upwards of 50ft, moving 1 billion tons of water, which is more than all the freshwater rivers combined! The Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia has the largest tidal range in the world because of the bay’s unique shape and size that acts like a funnel for water to go in and out. Tides in general are driven by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun on earth, pulling water from side to side creating bulges (aka high tides). #whereinth
